Purchasing Manager

IQTalent Partners is currently partnering with an automation machinery manufacturer on a Purchasing Manager opportunity. This organization specializes in designing and building custom automated equipment for customers across a variety of industries, helping improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and quality. Purchasing Manager Position Overview We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, managing shipping and logistics costs, and optimizing purchasing processes through ERP systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, supplier management expertise, and a proactive approach to cost control and operational efficiency. This position is 100% on-site Key Responsibilities Lead all purchasing activities, including sourcing, vendor selection, and procurement of materials, components, and services Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with parts vendors to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and performance Monitor and manage shipping and freight costs; identify opportunities to reduce logistics expenses and improve delivery timelines Utilize ERP systems to manage purchasing workflows, track inventory levels, and ensure accurate data and reporting Analyze market trends, tariffs, and supply chain risks to inform purchasing strategies Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance teams to align purchasing with operational needs and budget targets Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices Track vendor performance and implement corrective actions when necessary Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (preferred) 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment Proven experience negotiating with parts vendors and managing supplier relationships Strong experience with ERP systems Demonstrated ability to manage and reduce shipping/freight costs Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication and negotiation skills High attention to detail with a focus on cost control and efficiency #J-18808-Ljbffr IQTalent
