This position offers the opportunity to develop, maintain, and enhance a Java Spring Boot application that processes terabytes of operational data each week while contributing to the modernization of the platform through containerization, Kubernetes deployment, and modern software engineering practices.\nThe successful candidate will work within a highly collaborative engineering team responsible for developing scalable Java and Angular applications, maintaining RESTful APIs, optimizing MariaDB database interactions, and supporting continuous integration and delivery processes. The engineer will also contribute to technical architecture decisions, software performance improvements, automated testing, and the evolution of existing enterprise systems into containerized environments.\nThis position requires a strong background in enterprise software development, relational databases, application modernization, and collaborative Agile development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to design reliable software solutions, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support both application development and operational Engineering responsibilities as required to support program and mission objectives.\nQualifications\nCandidates must satisfy the applicable Software Engineer Skill Level 2 labor category requirements.\nOption 1 – Bachelor's Degree\n\n \n Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.\n \n Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.\n\nOR\nOption 2 – Experience Substitution\n\n \n Eighteen (18) years of relevant Software Engineering experience, including experience on projects with similar software development processes.\n \n Four (4) additional years of qualifying Software Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirement.\n\nAdditional Position-Specific Qualifications\n\n \n Experience developing Java enterprise applications using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.\n \n Experience developing front-end applications using Angular or similar frameworks.\n \n Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs.\n \n Experience working with relational databases such as MariaDB,
