Job Summary As a Registered Nurse oncology, you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with department requirements and state standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, delivering personalized, comprehensive and compassionate care following nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes. Perform procedures, monitor or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and ensure thorough, timely documentation of care in the medical record. Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action if an unintended response occurs. Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs and resolve issues. Educate patients, families and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects and follow‑up measures, ensuring full understanding by translating complex terminology. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within 5 years of hire. RNs with 10+ years of experience are exempt. Preferred: Master’s in Nursing. Required Licensure/Certifications: Current RN licensure in North Carolina; eNLC license may apply. BLS Healthcare Provider, Chemotherapy (grace period). National certification in oncology preferred. Required Experience: One year of hospital nursing experience. Location: Mission Hospital, Asheville, North Carolina.
