We are looking for a skilled and motivated Surgery Veterinary Technician to join our surgical team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with experienced doctors on both routine and advanced procedures. What You’ll Do Assist veterinarians during general and advanced surgical procedures, including orthopedic surgery Confidently monitor patients under anesthesia using a variety of monitoring equipment Perform dental cleanings: dental radiographs, charting, scaling, and polishing Prepare patients for surgery and maintain sterile fields Support hospitalized surgical patients with postoperative care Participate in ongoing cross‑training opportunities across multiple hospital departments Who We’re Looking For A CVT or a veterinary technician with 1–2+ years of surgery/anesthesia experience Interest and some experience in dentistry and dental radiology Confidence with anesthesia monitoring A strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, team‑focused culture A technician who is eager to learn, grow, and expand their skills in advanced medicine Why You’ll Love Working at Oakhurst Flexible scheduling: 4‑day work week with rotating weekends Competitive pay: $20–$27/hour, with potential up to $30/hour for the right experienced CVT Paid holidays (double pay if you work) Full benefits for full‑time employees, including 401(k) with match, HSA/FSA options, generous PTO up to 2 weeks in first year plus 5 days sick time, uniforms provided, CE allowance and CVT license reimbursement, and pet care discounts and partial pet insurance coverage Growth & Culture at Oakhurst Access to NVA resources for CE, licenses, and growth opportunities Support from a well‑rounded, diverse, and experienced team of technicians and veterinarians Exposure to advanced cases and procedures, with opportunities to develop skills in areas of interest such as anesthesia, dentistry, and ultrasound Organized training events and continuing education support Strong community involvement: shelter spay/neuter programs, rescue partnerships, fundraising, and events like Catsbury Park Cat Convention A collaborative culture built on mentorship, education, and career advancement At Oakhurst, surgery technicians are an integral part of the team.
