HVAC Refrigeration Technician 1st Shift

HVAC Refrigeration TechnicianOur Lynn, MA site is looking for licensed HVAC refrigeration techs to join our team. In this role, you will be maintaining and repairing our HVAC systems throughout the site, conducting preventative maintenance on various refrigeration units, and installing HVAC systems and equipment in the facility. This position requires you to have a Massachusetts refrigeration License. Learn more about GE's Lynn campus and the amazing ways the company is contributing to charitable causes and community outreach across Massachusetts1st Shift, Full time Work Monday-Friday No required weekends!Competitive starting pay at $40/hr.Free gated on-site parkingOn site Gym and Cafeteria facilitiesEssential Responsibilities:Maintain, repair and complete preventative maintenance on various types of HVAC equipment including but not limited to: rooftop units, cooled chilled water systems, split systems, cooling towers, air handlers and pneumatic controlsMaintain, repair and complete preventative maintenance on various types of refrigeration unitsPerform related work such as installation of compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating fans and other related duties as neededPerform other duties as requiredQualifications/Requirements:Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License (Experience and Ability to maintain and install 10 ton and above systems.)EPA 608 Universal CertificationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent Education (GED)Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams.This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.Eligibility Requirements:Ability to work in confined areas, work off ladders, platforms and heightsAbility to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 30 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations).Desired Characteristics:Experience as refrigeration mechanic working in an industrial environmentKnowledgeable and experienced in the installation, operation, trouble-shooting, maintenance and repair of all types of commercial building heating and cooling systemsKnowledge of and understanding of safety rules in an industrial settingWorking knowledge in the installation of large industrial equipmentAbility to read and interpret detailed plans, specifications, operating manuals and other written materials associated with this tradeFamiliarity with industrial and Massachusetts regulationsAbility to troubleshoot heating / cooling problemsStrong understanding of HVAC controlsStrong electrical and mechanical abilitiesAbility to use basic tools and machineryAbility to schedule, plan and order materials for jobsExcellent communication skills; ability to relate with and work with customers
