Employment: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Base Salary: $150,000 – $165,000 annually
Bonus Potential: 15%
Relocation: Partial relocation package

Visa Sponsorship: Not available HireNow Staffing is recruiting a Vice President of Engineering for an established manufacturer, installer, and servicer of premium residential elevators. This executive will lead mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering while helping shape the company's product direction and growth. The role requires a leader who can connect long-term technical strategy with everyday manufacturing realities. You will partner with Operations, Sales, Field Services, Quality, and Executive Leadership to deliver safe, reliable products, strengthen engineering performance, and improve the customer experience. - Lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization.
- Guide residential elevator development from concept through commercialization.
- Align engineering priorities with manufacturing needs and business growth.
- Oversee product compliance, controls development, and technical support.
- Build and retain a team grounded in accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Establish priorities aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent.
- Build a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Direct new residential elevator designs and enhancements to existing products.
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept through commercialization.
- Balance innovation with manufacturability, reliability, cost, performance, and aesthetics.
- Develop long-term product and technology roadmaps.
- Oversee compliance with applicable elevator, electrical, and safety requirements, including ASME A17.1 / CSA B44 and relevant state and local requirements.
- Manage engineering support for inspections, certifications, and regulatory approvals.
- Coordinate third-party engineering reviews and certifications when required.
- Partner with Manufacturing to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
- Lead design-for-manufacturing, value engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Establish root cause analysis and corrective-action processes for production and field issues.
- Apply lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement practices.
- Guide development of elevator controls, PLC-based automation, safety circuits, encoders, drives, and related technologies.
- Oversee software and controls development.
- Maintain a focus on system reliability, maintainability, and compliance.
- Provide technical leadership for field troubleshooting and product support.
- Use warranty data and customer feedback to guide product improvements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, suppliers, and industry developments.
- Contribute to business planning, capital investment decisions, and potential acquisitions, partnerships, or new market opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience
- 5+ years managing engineering teams in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing processes, and quality systems
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and large engineering projects
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering talent
- Experience establishing accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus
- Experience with lean manufacturing methods
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet approximately 10% travel requirements
- Ability to work without employer-provided visa sponsorship
- Experience with elevator systems, vertical transportation equipment, lifts, or related industries
- Experience with PLCs, industrial controls, VFDs, safety systems, and automation
- Knowledge of ASME A17.1 and related codes
- Experience supporting field service organizations
- Experience reducing warranty costs and improving product reliability
- The required engineering degree and leadership tenure
- At least five years managing engineering teams in manufacturing
- Successful leadership of complex product-development initiatives
- Examples of improvements in manufacturability, quality, reliability, or cost
- Experience building and retaining effective engineering teams
- Strong collaboration with operations, commercial, quality, and field-service teams
