Clinical Pharmacist in Hampton, VA

An inpatient clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a well-regarded medical center in Hampton, VA. This 13-week contract position begins Tuesday, May 26, immediately following Labor Day, offering rotating shifts that provide dynamic work hours.


Responsibilities include verifying medication orders, managing order entry, and ensuring accurate medication administration in an inpatient setting. The role demands proficiency with IV medication preparation, pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics management, and drug interaction assessment. Experience using EPIC electronic medical records for charting and documentation is mandatory. Additional expertise preferred includes chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing.


Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required
• Strong IV medication and order verification skills
• Experience with pain management medications and antibiotics
• Familiarity with drug interactions and clinical pharmacokinetics
• EPIC EMR experience is essential
• Preferred: Chemotherapy, anticoagulants, renal dosing knowledge
• Travel pharmacy experience is a plus
