Employees work under general supervision handling routine to mid-complexity casework across Adult/Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, and Foster Care/Adoption. Casework is periodically reviewed by a supervisor before case actions are implemented - distinguishing this role from the more independent FSS III. Key Responsibilities * Interpret and apply laws, policies, and regulations across CPS, APS, and/or Foster Care/Adoption program areas * Conduct off-site visits to clients' homes, schools, and service provider locations; occasional overnight travel required * Interview and assess client strengths, needs, education/skill levels, and support systems * Provide crisis intervention services and administer standardized assessment instruments * Conduct family finding, home studies, and facilitate Family Partnership meetings * Develop and implement service plans; present cases to determine appropriate services * Provide court testimony and prepare related documentation * Monitor program compliance, track expenditures, and submit budget estimates * Coordinate with interagency and multi-disciplinary teams serving clients * Provide after-hours on-call emergency coverage; assist with emergency shelter setup as needed Qualifications * Minimum Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field, or any Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of relevant human services experience * BSW/MSW and a Virginia Social Work license preferred * Valid driver's license with a safe driving record required; must reside within a 1-hour commute of Winchester within 90 days * Bilingual English-Spanish preferred Work Conditions * At least 50% of work performed in the field in varying conditions * Frequent travel, occasional overnight stays, and rotating on-call nights/weekends required * Light physical effort required (up to 2
