Sr. Director, North America Commercial Finance

Sr. Director, North America Commercial Finance Reports to the VP of Commercial Finance with direct business partner support to the SVP, President of North America. This role sits on the North America Commercial Leadership Team, providing effective financial leadership and partnering with the commercial team to accelerate growth and improve financial performance and business profitability. The position is hybrid, based out of our Parsippany, NJ office. Responsibilities Define the overall financial strategy with the North America President to sustainably drive Sales and OIBT profitability, in line with Corporate / Global expectations. Partner and guide implementation of financial and business strategy while working closely with the North America commercial business teams. Serve as a pricing committee member within the region, ensuring alignment of appropriate price corridors and implementation by channel to the overall financial and business strategy. Ensure accurate financial reporting, internal controls compliance, and optimize the balance sheet to drive improvements in free cash flow. Prepare accurate sales forecasting leading to efficient inventory management, review customer receivables, and review business proposals for distributor payment terms and credit limits to reduce DSO in collaboration with controllership and commercial operations teams. Participate in the integrated Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply and financial projections. Monitor key business drivers and provide fact‑based business partnering. Actively participate in business decision‑making processes to support embecta growth by providing financial support to key business initiatives such as acquisitions, divestitures, business alliances, and special projects. Lead all aspects of the Financial Reporting Processes, including the month‑end closing process aligned with GAAP principles and corporate accounting policies and practices, and SOX controls. Liaise with internal and external audit for all Sarbanes‑Oxley control related items during the monthly and quarterly close. Ensure effective flow of information within the North America region and Global business and finance teams. Develop and communicate standard operating financial data for sales and expenses, presenting P&L and balance sheet monthly results to the executive Operating Team. Collaborate with the North America leadership team and embecta Global team in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long‑range strategic, operational, and financial plans. Analyze and assess risk and opportunities as well as mitigation plans to achieve goals; proactively work with the commercial team to take corrective actions to address gaps or support funding needs for identified opportunities. Clear articulation and presentation of forward‑looking North America commercial forecasts to embecta global and executive Operating Team. Manage, educate, and provide coaching and formal feedback to staff / team of professionals. Qualifications Basic Requirements: BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field; 10+ years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounting; experience working with Commercial teams to deliver growth and profitability; medical device, pharmaceutical and/or life science industry experience. Preferred Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills; exemplary analytical skills and ability to think creatively about problem solving and opportunity creation; focus on continuous process improvement; high proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with SAP S/4 Hana, SAC‑P and Blackline. Salary and Benefits Competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications: $235,000-$260,000 (subject to variation depending on physical location). The base pay is one component of the Total Rewards package at embecta, which also includes eligibility for an annual bonus and an annual LTI award.
