Overview

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for a Med Surg patient population, following the nursing process and established standards of care
- Collect relevant health data, perform ongoing assessments, and analyze findings to identify care needs
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans; coordinate interventions across disciplines
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered; monitor responses and side effects
- Monitor patient status, document changes, and communicate with the treatment team; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Delegate tasks appropriately, supervise care provided by other licensed and unlicensed staff, and ensure a safe, healing environment
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC) and ensure continuity of care across shifts

Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California required)
- BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with experience
- Minimum of two years of recent acute Med Surg nursing experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification required
- EPIC experience or strong proficiency with this EMR
- Ability to work in a 24-hour healthcare setting and participate in a day-shift schedule

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
