Lead Metrology & CMM Programming Supervisor

Picture your morning at Accurate Marking & Manufacturing (AM&M) in New Kensington, PA: you kick off a quick stand-up with the inspection team, set priorities, and coach a newer inspector through a challenging GD&T callout. By mid-morning, you’re programming a Mitutoyo CMM for a first-article on a tight-tolerance defense component using PC-DMIS (with MCOSMOS exposure as a plus). After lunch, you’re partnering with production to resolve a nonconformance, documenting corrective actions, and wrapping the day by finalizing an AS9102 report and updating ISO/AS9100-compliant records.

What you’ll lead

• Mentor, coordinate, and develop a capable inspection team; assign work and provide hands-on training in quality procedures.
• Program and operate manual and CNC coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to perform precise dimensional verification.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to confirm part conformance to requirements.
• Leverage advanced metrology tools—micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparator, and CMM software—for detailed analysis.
• Execute first-article, in-process, and final inspections; complete AS9102 documentation as needed.
• Identify, record, and communicate nonconformances; collaborate with production on corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate quality records and generate inspection reports aligned with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
• Champion safety, organization, and continuous improvement to enhance throughput and reliability.

Qualifications that set you up for success

• 3–5+ years of manufacturing inspection experience with proven proficiency on manual and CNC CMMs.
• Demonstrated leadership—supervising, mentoring, and elevating team capability.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and a drive for precision.
• Fluent in blueprint reading and metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS); MCOSMOS experience is preferred .
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical credentials such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector are preferred.
• Clear written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration and reporting.
• Commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.
