About the Role

Luck Grove Telecom, Inc. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Fiber Optic Analyst to coordinate fiber-optic cable and network-equipment inventory in a fast-paced telecommunications environment. This entry-level management role is responsible for accurate inventory records, physical verification, issue resolution, and clear reporting that supports network operations and planning.

The successful candidate works with limited supervision, organizes daily priorities, and completes assignments on time. The role requires practical knowledge of physical fiber network topology, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with operations, engineering, warehouse, field, and management teams.

Success is measured by inventory accuracy, timely reconciliation of discrepancies, dependable completion of assignments, and consistent adherence to safety, security, and documentation requirements.

Performance Expectations

Key Deliverables

• Current fiber-optic cable and network-equipment inventory records maintained to department standards.

• Completed physical counts and documented reconciliations according to the assigned schedule.

• Accurate discrepancy logs with research notes, status, ownership, and escalation where needed.

• Clear weekly or requested status reports covering completed work, open issues, risks, and next actions.

• Updated spreadsheets, database records, drawings, markups, and equipment lists that reflect verified conditions.

Core Responsibilities:

Fiber and Equipment Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate records for fiber-optic cable, network equipment, related components, storage locations, and assigned assets.

• Perform routine physical counts and compare findings with inventory records, drawings, and available network documentation.

• Investigate shortages, overages, duplicate records, unidentified materials, and location discrepancies; document and escalate unresolved issues.

• Track the receipt, movement, assignment, return, and disposition of materials according to company procedures.

• Maintain organized storage and labeling practices that support efficient retrieval and reliable audit results

Physical Network Analysis and Documentation

• Interpret physical fiber network topology, route information, equipment relationships, and basic network-design documentation.

• Compare physical conditions with drawings, spreadsheets, databases, and other records; identify incomplete or inconsistent information.

• Collect and validate field information needed to update inventory, route, and equipment records.

• Prepare accurate markups, inventory maps, equipment lists, and supporting documentation for review.

Workflow Coordination and Entry Level Leadership

• Plan daily work, set priorities, and complete assigned inventory and analysis activities by established deadlines with limited supervision.

• Coordinate access, information, and task handoffs with operations, engineering, warehouse, field, and management personnel.

• Provide clear task direction when coordinating counts, verifications, or documentation activities involving other employees or contractors.

• Raise safety, security, schedule, and inventory risks promptly, with a clear summary of facts and recommended next steps.

• Model dependable attendance, professional conduct, accountability, and respect for confidential or sensitive information.

Reporting Quality and Continuous Improvement

• Prepare timely status reports, discrepancy logs, inventory summaries, and other required work products using Microsoft Office applications.

• Review entries and work products for completeness, consistency, and accuracy before submission.

• Follow established change-control, documentation, safety, and security procedures.

• Recommend practical improvements to inventory controls, labeling, recordkeeping, and work processes.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Experience: At least one year of experience with physical telecommunications infrastructure, fiber-optic systems, network design, inventory control, or closely related work.

• Technical and Functional Knowledge: Working knowledge of physical fiber network topology and the ability to read and compare basic network, route, or equipment documentation.

• Software: Competence with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Communication and Leadership: Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, coordinate tasks, and follow through on commitments.

• Other Essential Requirements: Ability to meet applicable customer-site access and background-screening requirements. Any citizenship requirement and related proof will apply only when required by law, regulation, or an assigned contract.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using AutoCAD to review or update telecommunications drawings.

• Experience using Microsoft Access or another relational database for inventory or asset records.

• Experience with fiber inventory, asset-management, GIS, network-design, or document-control systems.

• Prior experience coordinating small projects, work assignments, audits, or physical inventory counts.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Works primarily onsite in the East Hartford area in office, storage, equipment, and other operational spaces.

• Walks throughout assigned facilities, including up and down stairs, for distances of up to approximately three miles during a workday.

• Regularly stands, walks, bends, reaches, and visually inspects labels, cables, equipment, records, and storage locations.

• Uses a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods and communicates in person, by phone, and electronically.

• May work near telecommunications equipment and in active operational areas; must follow posted safety, security, and access rules.
