Mechanical Maintenance Instructor

Purpose of Role Prepares for and teaches Industrial Technology courses in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and industrial maintenance mechanics. Conducts labs as assigned by the department chair of the Industrial Technology department. Responsibilities Develop and teach customized training courses based on employer needs.. Instructs and evaluates students in a live work setting who are performing industrial maintenance, to include instruction in shop safety. Maintains a safe worksite and enforces Ranken’s safety standards. Assists in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment. Assists management with developing curriculum and syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties. Participates in college governance, committee work, student advising, etc. Participates in available training to keep current in Industrial Technology. Assists in maintaining requirements of industry standards. Performs other duties as assigned by authorized individual. Qualifications AS or BS degree in Industrial Technology or related engineering field. Three years or more of industrial technology experience. Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred but will train. Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Ability to assemble, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits. Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and drawings. Mechanically inclined and experienced with mechanical repairs on industrial equipment. Experience with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment preferred. Experience with millwright and rigging fundamentals. EPA certified preferred.
