Senior Structural Engineer

Overview Haskell is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in St. Louis for industrial projects, consumer goods, and private-sector client facilities design. The role aims to integrate into Haskell with the intention of becoming the next Lead Structural Engineer in the St. Louis office. This position suits a licensed engineer who enjoys technical leadership, team development, and client-facing project execution. The engineer will collaborate with other disciplines and construction teams within Haskell, driven by team, excellence, service, and trust. Haskell is a leader in the Food & Beverage market, with notable projects such as Gallo Winery Production Facility. Key Responsibilities Lead a structural project design team of Professional Engineers, Engineers-In-Training, and BIM/CAD Designers. Collaborate with Structural Engineering Leaders in other Haskell locations to develop best practices and drive growth of the discipline across the company. Assist in securing project work by representing Haskell as a structural design project lead in client-facing engagements and by developing detailed discipline scopes and budgets for proposals. Ensure quality control by providing technical guidance, problem-solving, interdisciplinary coordination, and support for construction efforts. Stay updated on new technologies and help incorporate emerging technologies into the A/E practice and design standards. Lead large engineering design projects as engineer of record. Lead Engineer Growth Opportunities In this role, you will be mentored with the intention of developing into the lead structural engineer position. Create department project budgets, delegate projects/tasks, attend client and project meetings, and manage project deadlines and workload. Work with the Structural Practice Area Leader to develop group and corporate standards, and participate in research and incorporation of innovative technologies. Participate in company-wide structural discipline design and standards committees. Coach and mentor staff through performance reviews, career path development, and professional growth opportunities. Participate in quality assurance/quality control and best practices for efficiency, constructability, and safety in the field. Partner with the lead engineer to recruit discipline staff and support team growth. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university Professional Engineer (PE) license required Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred 8+ years of structural engineering experience Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize competing project demands Effective communication with external/internal customers and staff to convey project information and drive solutions Collaborative and forward-thinking approach to drive company excellence Working knowledge of primary company software: SAP2000, ETabs, SAFE, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, Viktor.AI, Profis Engineering Suite, Enercalc, Mathcad, Tedds, Idea Statica, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office/Teams, Revit Demonstrated ability to communicate and build trust with design team members, construction partners, and clients (Developmental) Ability to lead a diverse team to achieve business outcomes while supporting professional growth Benefits and Employment Details This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, employee stock ownership, retirement plans, professional development opportunities, and more.
