Job Title: Set-Up Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Set-Up Mechanic with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in CNC high precision manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of relevant experience and possess the ability to program and set-up precision CNC machines.
Responsibilities
- Program and set-up CNC machines
- Read and interpret complex part drawings and turn them into functional parts.
- Cost reduce jobs once in production.
- Set-up and operate all grinding equipment, including basic set-up, tool changing, and minor adjustments.
- Use multiple metrology methods to verify part configuration and conformance to print specifications.
- Develop tooling and gauging to produce and measure complex part geometries.
- Troubleshoot parts during set-up and run cycles to ensure quoted cycle times are met.
- Ensure daily output is met and machines are running on schedule at expected quality levels.
- Work with the Contract Review team to provide estimates on new customer parts.
- Interface with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering personnel to resolve production issues.
- Maintain safety standards and comply with standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot machines and feeder systems, collaborating with outside machine tool providers.
- Assist with special projects as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience within ISO 9001:2015 and Lean Manufacturing environments.
- Ability to set up and maintain operation of CNC machines
- Comprehensive understanding of the PK4000 to inspect during setup.
- Troubleshooting and adjusting CNC machines as needed.
- Ability to meet production rates during setup.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in regulated industries such as medical, aerospace, or automotive is a plus.
- Centerless grinding experience is a plus.
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
