Referral Coordinator - Sports Medicine Orthopedic - Andrews Institute - Gulf Breeze

Job Description The Referral Coordinator is responsible for processing, follow-up, and communication with patients for referrals and/or procedure orders generated by providers. The position initiates patient services authorizations, has knowledge of insurance coverages, documents authorizations, and communicates status to practice staff. Responsibilities Timely processing of incoming and outgoing referrals and orders. Document all phone calls, messages, and interactions with patients and insurance companies in the patient chart or applicable order systems. Obtain prior authorizations for all appointments and procedures. Update patient demographics in the practice management system. Receive and route incoming telephone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally. Operate a variety of office equipment effectively. Work closely with Baptist Medical Group Representatives, medical facilities, insurance companies, patients, and family members. Qualifications Minimum Education High School Diploma or Equivalent. Minimum Work Experience 1-3 years experience in healthcare or medical office (Preferred). Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Good verbal and written communication skills. Organizational skills, ability to assign tasks and meet goals. Ability to prioritize work. Confidence and skill in using computers and related software applications. Capability to make recommendations and handle complaints and requests professionally and calmly. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
