Clinical Nurse Coordinator NICU

Job Summary The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision and mission to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care. Participate in the ongoing assessment of patient care quality in the unit, collaborating with management. Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary. Support the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives. Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommend and implement courses of action, including training, development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Assist with staff scheduling; manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment. Qualifications Experience 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a NICU Registered Nurse (RN). 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting – preferred. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). License and Certifications Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy. S.T.A.B.L.E. Neonatal Education Program Certification – preferred.
