General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a General Liability Associate Attorney in Miami, Florida. This role involves handling litigation matters, providing sound counsel, and working on challenging cases with talented colleagues nationwide. Responsibilities Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy development and trial preparation. Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts. Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. Manage all aspects of written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests for production. Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations. Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case assessments and updates. Work closely with attorneys on complex matters involving general liability and insurance-related claims. Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit development. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for efficient case management. Requirements JD from an ABA‑accredited law school. Admitted to practice in the state of Florida. 2+ years of defense litigation experience. Experience with general liability, premises, transportation, or insurance defense. Maritime experience is strongly preferred. Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions. Superior analytical skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
