Job Description Title: Assistant Superintendent – Advanced Facilities / Controlled Environments Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan / 100% Project-Based Travel Nationwide Job Summary The Assistant Superintendent – Advanced Facilities / Controlle Environments supports the Superintendent and Project Team in the successful execution of technically complex construction projects throughout the United States. This role assists with the coordination of field operations, subcontractors, safety compliance, quality control, scheduling activities, and project documentation on advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, mission critical, data center, life sciences, controlled environment, and cleanroom construction projects. This position is ideal for an experienced Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, or construction professional who is looking to advance into a Superintendent role and gain hands‑on leadership experience managing large‑scale projects. The Assistant Superintendent works closely with project leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and client expectations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

This position requires 100% project-based travel. Most assignments are located outside of Michigan and may require extended stays at project locations across the United States. Candidates must be willing and able to travel full‑time for project assignments. Per diem, travel benefits, and project‑specific incentives may be available based on project location and assignment. Key Responsibilities Field Operations Support Assist the Superintendent with daily oversight of construction activities. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and self‑perform crews. Monitor field productivity and workforce requirements. Assist with project logistics, site access, material deliveries, and work sequencing. Participate in daily planning meetings and foreman coordination meetings. Support schedule execution and milestone tracking. Advanced Facilities & Controlled Environment Construction Assist in the construction of advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, life sciences, mission critical, data center, controlled environment, and cleanroom facilities. Support implementation of contamination control and cleanliness protocols when required. Assist with coordination of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty systems. Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with project requirements. Support startup, commissioning, turnover, and client occupancy activities. Safety Management Promote and support all company and project‑specific safety initiatives. Participate in daily safety briefings and pre‑task planning meetings. Conduct routine site inspections and identify potential safety concerns. Verify subcontractor compliance with jobsite safety requirements. Assist with documentation of safety observations and corrective actions. Quality Control Assist in field quality inspections and verification of completed work. Ensure work is performed according to project plans and specifications. Help manage punch‑list activities and deficiency tracking. Maintain project documentation and photo records. Support commissioning and turnover documentation as required. Communication & Coordination Coordinate daily activities between subcontractors and project leadership. Participate in owner, architect, engineer, and subcontractor meetings. Assist with preparation of daily reports and progress updates. Communicate field issues and potential delays to the Superintendent and Project Manager. Support project closeout activities and owner turnover processes.

CORE COMPETENCIES

Experience & Technical Knowledge Minimum 3-7 years of construction experience. Experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or equivalent field leadership role preferred. Commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, mission critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or data center construction experience preferred. Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules. Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple trades. Controlled environment or cleanroom experience is desirable but not required. Leadership & Growth Potential Demonstrated leadership capabilities and desire to advance into a Superintendent role. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset. Communication & Organization Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and coworkers. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with construction technology and reporting tools. Safety & Certifications OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain). CPR/AED certification preferred. Demonstrated commitment to construction safety.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Active commercial and industrial construction sites. Advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, mission critical, controlled environment, and cleanroom facilities. Indoor and outdoor work environments. Significant walking, climbing, and physical activity required. Frequent travel and extended project assignments. Physical Requirements Ability to travel full‑time to project locations across the United States. Ability to walk jobsites for extended periods. Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work in active construction environments. Ability to lift, carry, and inspect construction materials as needed. Ability to communicate effectively with project teams and clients.
