Investment Banking Analyst
Fireclay Partners is building a technology-native investment bank. Analysts are core members of deal teams and are expected to master the fundamentals of M&A while helping design a better way to do the work. You will use AI, programming, automation, structured data, and proprietary technology alongside sound financial judgment.
What You Will Do
- Build financial models, valuations, buyer screens, market analyses, and transaction materials for live and prospective engagements.
- Support the preparation of pitches, information memoranda, management presentations, and data rooms.
- Conduct rigorous company, industry, and competitive research and synthesize findings clearly.
- Coordinate transaction workstreams with senior bankers, clients, buyers, investors, and advisers.
- Identify recurring problems and build technology-enabled solutions using AI, code, automation, APIs, or structured data.
- Create work that is accurate, auditable, reusable, and valuable to future teams.

- Exceptional academic performance in finance, accounting, economics, computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field.
- Strong accounting, valuation, Excel, PowerPoint, writing, and communication skills.
- Genuine interest in investment banking and in using technology to improve research, analysis, and execution.
- A builder mentality and clear evidence that you have built, automated, or programmed something useful. Examples may include scripts, applications, models, data pipelines, research tools, or workflow automations.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, APIs, or modern AI tools is strongly preferred; depth in every tool is not required.
- High standards, intellectual honesty, discretion, and the judgment to verify sources, calculations, assumptions, and AI-assisted work.
