Role Description The Legal Counsel role at ELK CREEK CONSTRUCTION is a part-time, remote position responsible for providing legal support across the company’s operations. On a day-to-day basis, the Legal Counsel will review, draft, and edit contracts and agreements, ensuring they protect the company’s interests and comply with relevant laws and regulations. The role will involve advising on construction-related legal issues, including risk management, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. The Legal Counsel will collaborate with leadership and project teams to provide practical legal guidance, support contract negotiations with clients and vendors, and prepare legal documents as needed. This position requires proactive communication, the ability to manage multiple matters concurrently, and a commitment to ethical, business-focused legal advice.

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with experience applying legal principles to business or construction industry contexts.
- Demonstrated skills in Contract Negotiation and the ability to facilitate fair, clear, and enforceable agreements.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, policies, and formal correspondence.
- Experience identifying and addressing Legal Issues relevant to construction projects, operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Capability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to non-legal stakeholders, supporting sound decision-making.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active law license in a relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience in construction, real estate, or commercial contracting is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle part-time responsibilities across multiple matters.
