Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join its interdisciplinary care team in San Jose, CA.

The COTA will work under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to provide restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric participants. The role focuses on helping participants maximize their independence, safety, and ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs).

Key Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment programs established by the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with vital signs, range-of-motion, and strength assessments.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and other members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Provide treatment services at the center and in participants’ homes.
• Develop and support activities based on individual treatment plans.
• Coordinate participant treatment schedules, clinical visits, and billing.
• Document occupational therapy interventions according to established care plans.
• Support muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, endurance, and ADL independence.
• Communicate participant condition updates with the clinical team.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an accredited program.
• Valid California OTA license or proof of license eligibility.
• Knowledge and skills necessary to support adult, geriatric, and medically complex participants.
• Experience in outpatient, acute care, inpatient, or skilled nursing settings is preferred.
• Adult and/or geriatric experience is highly valued.
