They assist patients in selecting adaptive equipment and assistive devices and integrate company values into daily practice. This position works Day shifts PRN (as needed). Job duties include, but are not limited to: Performs patient assessment and establishes plan of care and treatment goals, then assesses effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment when appropriate considering educational and cultural needs of the patient, family, caregiver or significant other and communicates to achieve maximum benefit of care. Prepares plans for discharge. Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress; applying appropriate standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for patients. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Control standards. May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies. Requirements While experience in acute inpatient or a rehabilitation hospital setting is helpful, we welcome new/recent graduates to apply. Current KS state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in good standing is required. Basic Life Support/CPR required. Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift Significant amount of standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time. Gross and precise motor functions. Lifting/exerting up to 50 lbs. Possible exposure to bodily fluids. Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care. Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard. We value our employees’ skills, talents and input.
