Ophthalmic Technician

Ophthalmic TechnicianNorthwest Eyes is a progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice. We are searching for an Ophthalmic Technician to add to our team. Work in a team-oriented clinical environment, taking pride in and providing outstanding patient care. Team members are responsible for providing accurate documentation. Maintain patient flow and communication regarding appointment status. Assist Ophthalmologists by performing ophthalmic clinical functions, such as patient workups and special testing. May administer eye medications and instruct the patient in the care and treatment of eye conditions.Duties/Responsibilities:Open and close exam lanes and ensure all supplies are stockedCommunicate patient flow with the team to keep the schedules running on timeMaintain a clean and tidy work environment and waiting area for patientsComplete various documents and forms such as consent forms, work releases, etcTake patients' medical histories and perform ophthalmic diagnostic examsOperate ophthalmic equipmentSterilize instruments to maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipmentHelp instruct the patient in the care and treatment of eye conditionsEnsure all medical records are accurate and completeTriage phone calls from patients and outside contactsMaintain flexibility and perform other duties as requiredRequirements:Basic knowledge of medical coding terminology and conventions.Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products, G-suite environments.Willing to help in all areas; have the flexibility to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and ability to convey ideas and information verbally and in writingProfessional appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and patient confidentiality.Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.One (1) year of experience as an ophthalmic assistant; experienced COA or COT preferred.Maintains appropriate education and training.Benefits:Competitive Salary $19 - $23Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceRobust Ancillary Benefits401(k) Plan with employer contributionCompany Paid Life InsuranceGenerous PTO/HolidayEEO Statement
