Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position at a Charter House assisted living/short-term rehab unit, requiring a Minnesota RN license and 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in the Charter House Nursing Administration unit, providing Assisted Living and Short-Term Rehabilitation care
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly
• Shifts scheduled either 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• On-site position with no teleworking options
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN license required
• BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross required (must not expire within 3 months of start date)
• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
• If nursing program was not ACEN/CCNE accredited, at least 1 year of RN experience within the last 5 years in an applicable care setting required
• If graduation occurred more than 2 years ago, 1 year of RN experience in an applicable care setting required
• 2 years of specialty experience and/or 3 total travel assignments required
• Long-term care experience preferred
• No pending license allowed for consideration
• COVID vaccination and booster required

Additional Information

• Coordinate nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
• Practice within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts
• Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
• Participate on committees or projects as needed
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
