Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) on weekdays, including some weekends.

The Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, particularly those with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. This role requires the ability to monitor, assess, and implement care plans for patients in the stepdown unit, managing a patient to nurse ratio typically of 1:4, adjusting to 1:5 during emergencies.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and vital signs.
• Manage intravenous (IV) therapies and administer medications as prescribed.
• Perform assessment and evaluation of patient conditions and progress.
• Assist with procedures and provide post-operative care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in medical-surgical/telemetry and 2 years in stepdown care.
• Current RN license in West Virginia or a compact state.
• Certifications required: BCLS and ACLS.
• Experience managing patients on cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring.
