Direct Support Professional Professional Paramus, NJ, Paramus, NJ, US 7 days ago Requisition ID: 1344 Salary Range: $43,000.00 To $46,000.00 Annually Position Statement Direct Support Professionals’ responsibilities include supervising and teaching learners as assigned at work, volunteer sites, the community, and in our center, collecting and graphing data to ensure progress is being made, managing problem behavior, and contributing to the overall development of instructional and treatment programs. Qualifications/Certificates High School Diploma Experience working with learners with disabilities (preferred) Experience working with adults with disabilities (preferred) Experience working with learners with autism (preferred) Valid NJ driver’s license 40-hour week Reports to Clinical Supervisors and Director of Adult & Transition Services Job Requirements/Skills/Knowledge Be of good moral character Ability to successfully complete the Alpine Learning Group Autism Services, Inc. training program Facility with educational technology (e.g., tablets, computers) Ability to work with diverse individuals and needs Maintain confidentiality Punctual daily attendance Clearances Compliance with Federal, State and DDD requirements, including, but not limited to, Criminal History, Motor Vehicle Review, Citizenship Status and Central Registry Review, drug testing for controlled, dangerous substances as a condition of employment, as well as possible random testing while employed based on a randomization process provided by DHS and the DHS vendor. The law requires that any Adult Program Instructor who refuses a random test shall be terminated from employment. Working Environment / Physical Demands Sitting, walking, standing, occasional running, some lifting, good fine and gross motor coordination when guiding learners, ability to supervise routines, vision and hearing and receptive and expressive language abilities as suited to instructional and behavioral needs of one’s learners. The Direct Support Professional must have the strength and agility to assist with movement of learners during crisis intervention. Responsibilities Services will be provided either on-site, in-home, or through distance learning, or any combination thereof, as determined by the administration. Implements instructional programs, including providing job coaching at Supported Employment/Volunteer sites and teaching procedures such as: Discrete trial learning Chaining Prompting (e.g., modeling, manual guidance, verbal) Incidental teaching Systematic desensitization Implement behavior reduction treatment program. Collects, summarizes, and reports data. Supervises assigned learners throughout the day. Contributes to development of instructional and treatment programs. Reports emergencies and injuries as per ALG policies and procedures. Attends staff meetings and in-service training sessions (including crisis intervention). Recommends materials, equipment, and supplies. Carries out other duties as may be requested by the Clinical Supervisors, Director of Adult & Transition Services, or the Executive Director. #J-18808-Ljbffr Alpine-Learning-Group
