Job Description:

We’re seeking a skilled, dependable, safety-focused Extrusion Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion equipment in alignment with our quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, quality-minded, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate extrusion machines according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), schedules, and order specifications. Coordinate with team leads and other setup operators during teardowns and setups.
• Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor machines, materials, and environmental conditions to detect issues and ensure smooth operation. Make real-time adjustments as needed.
• Quality Control: Fully understand quality specifications and measurement equipment, how to recognize defects, how to take appropriate follow up actions. ​​
• Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record production data and follow all required documentation protocols.
• Preventive Maintenance & Housekeeping: Perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain machine efficiency and workplace safety (5S practices). Support general upkeep of the production area.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols, SOPs, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure a safe work environment.
• Perform All Other Duties as Assigned: Support the team with additional tasks, including training new employees and assisting with process improvements.

Additional Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and powered hand trucks to load materials and transport finished goods
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on machines and tools

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years of industrial experience preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand/power tools and measuring instruments (tape measure, caliper & micrometer) required
• Understanding of raw materials, production flow, and quality control practices
• Computer proficiency, especially in M3 systems or similar ERP platforms preferred
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety required
• Function with an attitude of teamwork, cooperativeness, positive thinking, and responsibility at all times.
• OSHA-certified forklift operation experience (stand-up and walk-behind trucks)

Pay Transparency:

The salary range for this position is $24.23 an hour. On the job training available, with skill-based increases up to $32.94 an hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
