Adolescent Medicine - Physician - Blank Adolescent Clinic

Overview UnityPoint Health is actively recruiting for an Adolescent Medicine Physician to join our team in Des Moines, IA. Blank Children’s Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, focuses on the unique healthcare needs of children. The hospital has 108 beds and encourages families to participate in their child's healing and recovery. Blank Adolescent Medicine Clinic offers comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care for adolescents and young adults. The clinic provides primary care and subspecialty consultation services. It is staffed by two physicians, one nurse practitioner, and one registered dietitian. Common referrals include mental health, reproductive health, and eating disorders/obesity concerns. Responsibilities Clinical care: Primarily outpatient care with opportunities for inpatient consultation based on clinical interests. Participate in the education of pediatric residents at Blank Children’s Hospital and medical students from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and Des Moines University. Opportunities All teaching faculty receive a clinical appointment through the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Scholarly productivity is not a requirement; support is available for clinicians interested in quality improvement or research. Wide latitude to shape clinical caseload based on interests and career goals. Collaborate across specialties including psychiatry, psychology, developmental pediatrics, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, neurology, orthopedics, surgery, palliative care, pulmonology, and rheumatology. Participate in key hospital or ACGME leadership positions. Qualifications MD or DO. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Adolescent Medicine. Unrestricted license to practice in Iowa.
