Software Engineer

Software EngineerThe Sensor and Software Division is seeking a software engineer with a background in systems development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development, modern software languages, cloud technologies, databases, and algorithms. Experience with data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning is a plus. The individual must be able to work in a secure lab environment with responsibilities for developing and maintaining software for our customer's research and development projects.Responsibilities:Design and implement software using an agile approach for operation on secure networksDevelop and maintain software applications written in a variety of programming languages for integration with government computer systemsInteract with project stakeholders (customers / users) to collect system requirements and obtain user feedbackWrite and maintain software documentation for installation, use, and modificationTroubleshoot and debug software and hardware issuesParticipate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standardsMinimum Qualifications:This position will support on-going research with the Air Force, and will require a security clearance.Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field with 3+ years of experienceExperience with Python, JavaScript, etc.Experience with SQLExperience working in Agile Development environmentsAbility to solve problems independentlyAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentEffective written communication skillsDue to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. CitizenActive Security clearanceAn R3 must meet all R2 minimum qualifications in addition to the qualifications listed below.A minimum of eight years of directly related experience is requiredPreferred Qualifications:While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field with 8+ years of experienceExperience with NiFiExperience with User Interface Design & DevelopmentExperience with Neo4j & Graph DatabasesExperience with React, Vue.js, Node.jsExperience with PostgreSQLDevelopment on Linux systemsActive Security+ certificationSpecial Instructions to Applicants:To apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.Closing Statement:Informed by its Catholic and Marianist mission, the University is committed to the dignity of every human being.
