Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide skilled clinical and administrative support in a bilingual (Spanish/English) ambulatory care setting, assisting healthcare providers with patient care and ensuring efficient clinic operations. This role includes performing patient assessments, supporting treatment procedures, and collaborating within the healthcare team. The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, certification as a Medical Assistant, and current BLS certification. Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams.
• Support administrative functions including patient charting using Cerner electronic medical records.
• Ensure effective communication with patients in both Spanish and English.
• Float to other facility locations as required within the scope of practice.
• Maintain compliance with clinic policies and standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant credential from one of the following: AAMA, AMT, NHA, ARMA, NCCT, or NRCMA.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred, or 5 years with MA certification.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English.
• Associate's degree or diploma in Medical Assisting.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in ambulatory adult and pediatric care.
• Local residency within 75 miles of the facility.

Special Considerations:

• Mandatory floating to other facilities as directed.
• No return to office (RTO) on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after holidays.
• Call and weekend work are not required.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday, five 8-hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Maximum of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days off.
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
