Data Center Technician

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of data center, telecom, IT infrastructure, low voltage, or related technical experience\n• Basic understanding of server hardware and physical infrastructure components\n• Experience working with fiber and/or copper cabling\n• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions\n• Professional communication skills and proper written grammar\n• Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for basic data tracking\n• Ability to perform rack-and-stack activities and basic hardware installations\n• Self-motivated, dependable, and coachable personality\n• Comfortable working weekend shifts and operating with limited supervision\n• Ability to support customer-facing environments and follow established processes

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous data center experience\n• Smart hands or colo facility experience\n• Dispatching or work order coordination experience\n• Experience supporting BMS or monitoring systems\n• Understanding of server console access and basic backend/server troubleshooting\n• Experience with single-mode fiber\n• Copper cable termination experience\n• Customer-facing technical support experience\n• Telecommunications or structured cabling background

Job Description
• Monitor data center systems, alarms, and infrastructure health through various monitoring applications\n• Review and manage customer support tickets and service requests\n• Perform routine site walkthroughs to inspect critical infrastructure and facility conditions\n• Support rack-and-stack activities, cabling, and basic server hardware work\n• Grant and manage visitor access into the facility\n• Monitor unmanned remote sites and escalate issues when necessary\n• Dispatch subcontractors and coordinate field support activities\n• Update customer-facing documentation, reports, and tracking sheets\n• Support customers during maintenance activities and follow provided scopes of work\n• Perform regular operational checks and ensure site cleanliness, organization, and readiness\n• Utilize downtime productively by completing training, improving processes, and supporting site operations\n• Work closely with senior technicians and leadership with the expectation of converting to a permanent employee position after successful performance during the contract period.
