Director of Operations

Experience Level: 8+ years Office Location: Albany, New York Work Schedule: This role has hybrid schedule flexibility based on business need, allowing 1 day of remote work/week when possible Compensation Range: $110,000 - $130,000 Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP seeks a Director of Operations to help guide the work of our firm in a period of notable growth. As the senior leader managing multiple teams, you will bring a steady focus to all projects within the firm’s non-legal departments. We’re looking for a candidate with the ability to forecast the needs of a given project many months out, with the sense of vision and ability to delegate in order to accomplish the established goals. You will oversee multiple departments, including: intake, records, facilities, office support, library services, and administrative support. This role also oversees the tracking of CLE/admission requirements for attorneys and paralegals. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Human Resources, General Counsel, and our Executive Committee, while reporting to the COO/CFO. The ability to synthesize strategic direction from firm leadership and translate that into clear and purposeful action among the teams you oversee is essential. Our firm, based in Albany, New York, is the largest and one of the most well-respected law firms in the Capital Region. We have 19 practice areas which utilize a team approach to address our clients’ needs. Education and Experience: 8+ years of relevant Operations experience required Experience leading robust, cross-functional teams required Law firm or other professional service firm experience preferred Records management experience strongly preferred Combination of relevant experience, education, and skills will be considered Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Budget and financial management Change management Project management People leadership, supervision, and delegation Critical thinking and strategic decision-making Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills Familiarity with online legal research software such as Westlaw or Lexis Experience with document management systems (DMS), such as NetDocuments, preferred Application Materials: Resume Why Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP?
