POSITION SUMMARY At Polk Mechanical, you'll be the backbone of our HVAC services, specializing in chiller systems. You'll use your expertise to diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade a variety of HVAC equipment. This isn't just about fixing things; it's about being a problem-solver, a skilled technician, and a crucial link in ensuring our customers' comfort and operational efficiency. WHAT YOU'LL DO Identify and resolve technical problems with precision, ensuring all failed components are identified and addressed. Apply your knowledge of both air- and water-cooled HVAC equipment, including VFDs and various types of starters. Troubleshoot hydronic systems, including system pumps and water balance issues. Effectively troubleshoot cooling towers and evaporative condensers. Utilize your general working knowledge of York, Trane, and Carrier microprocessors. Assist with dispatch service calls when customer demand is high. Interact clearly and respectfully with customers and internal office personnel. Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted daily. Set and meet your own goals, taking ownership and a sense of urgency with every task. Be willing and able to travel to customer locations within the greater Dallas area. Abide by all safety rules and regulations, including courteous and defensive driving. Be adaptable to a flexible work schedule. WHAT YOU'LL BRING 8+ years of extensive experience providing professional services in the HVAC industry, specifically working with water-cooled and air-cooled chillers. Strong customer service skills, including professional communication with facility managers, property managers, plant personnel, and building owners. Ability to explain technical problems, repair recommendations, risk factors, and modernization options in clear business terms. Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision while maintaining productivity, safety, and quality standards.
