The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis. Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods: Spike and trace samples Prepare reagents Bottle samples Prepare concentrations Separation Sonication Preparing water andsoil samples for metals analysis. Performing digestions with concentrated acids Learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System Learning the Mercury Analysis Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled. Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks. Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples. Stocking laboratory supplies. Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment. Assisting other laboratory areas as needed. The ideal candidate would possess : Comfortable with a fast-paced time sensitive laboratory work Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts Ability to useTALS (Laboratory Information Management System) Ability to complete work within time and quality constraints Can work independently following written or verbal instructions Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing Full-time entry level position Mon-Fri schedule 12:00pm- 8:30pm Compensation $17.50 plus eligible for benefits Basic Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent High school Chemistry coursework preferred. Basic laboratoryexperiencepreferred Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice. Perform other duties as assigned Abilities/Skills: General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science Basic mathematical skills Good organizational skills Ability to muti-task Quick learner Work independently Work within time constraints Requirements: Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English Position is full-time Monday – Friday 12:00pm - 8:30pm.
