This role will manage a diverse and evolving portfolio of policy issues, support the Directors on the team, and offer the opportunity to work at the intersection of food, agriculture, and innovation.We are seeking a Senior Manager who can support the company’s public policy and advocacy efforts, with a focus on (but not limited to) monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, engaging with policymakers and external partners, and preparing materials that inform internal and external engagement. With minimal supervision, this job conducts complex policy analysis, supports execution of advocacy initiatives, maintains positive working relationships with government and coalition contacts, and supports effective communication with key internal and external stakeholders.The Senior Manager will have the opportunity to work on a diverse and evolving set of issues that touch food and agriculture, including topics like trade, sustainability, nutrition, and innovation, as well as international policy topics related to the regions where we operate: Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The Senior Manager will work with Congress, relevant executive agencies, foreign government officials, trade associations, industry coalitions, and other groups to shape public policy that supports Cargill’s business goals and build trusted relationships across the federal and international landscape.Key AccountabilitiesSupport Directors on cross-cutting issues such trade, sustainability, nutrition, transportation, energy, and workforce.Organize and participate in meetings, forums and events with government officials to share insights and advance Cargill’s policy priorities.Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders.Attend coalitions and trade association meetings to ensure our interests are reflected in policy discussions.Develop internal resources and programs to raise awareness of government actions and their impact on the business.Write executive briefings, policy memos, and manage newsletters to support internal and external stakeholder engagement.Handle complex issues independently, escalating only the most complex issues as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.#LI-SD1 QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experienceMinimum four years of related work experienceAbility to support senior leaders and collaborate across diverse teamsAbility to synthesize complex policy developments into actionable insights for business leadersUnderstanding of global trade, sustainability, nutrition, transportation, energy, and/or workforce policy issuesStrong communication and relationship building skillsExperience on Capitol Hill or trade associationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSStrong understanding of food, agricultural, or supply-chain policyExperience working on international policy issues across multiple regions (e.g., Latin America, Asia Pacific, EMEA)Compensation DataThe expected salary for this position is approximately $120,000 to $150,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
