JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Scrub Tech Responsible To: Lead Scrub Tech/OR Responsible For: OR Scrub Overtime Status: Non-Exempt Job summary: Seeking Full Time Scrub Tech in very busy Ambulatory Surgery Center to support 1- Plastics and 3- Oculo-Facial Plastic Surgeons in Tacoma. The position is 32 to 40 hours per week with an option for paid overtime during infrequent busy periods. Our center hours are M-F, we are closed all weekends, evenings and holidays. - Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure
- Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physician preference cards
- Inspects equipment for scheduled proper working condition
- Follows principles of septic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure
- Confirms that instruments work properly
- Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays
- Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the OR for immediate access during procedures
- Assists in storing and stocking supplies/works closely with Materials Manager
- Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the surgeon
- Maintains current CPR certification
- Compliance with HIPAA/OSHA and AAAHC
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of Scrub Tech Program
- CST certification preferred
- 2 years of previous operating experience
- ASC experience preferred
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to sit, walk, and stand for long periods
- Physical strength for equipment needs and patient-care activities
- Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care activities
- Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
