Special Counsel // Insurance(Re)

A leading Am Law 100 firm is seeking a Special Counsel // Insurance(Re) with 6+ years of experience to join its Litigation team in New York. The role offers significant responsibility and the opportunity to work on complex insurance and reinsurance disputes within a commercially focused, results-driven practice. The team handles high-stakes matters spanning pretrial strategy, discovery, trial and appellate work, with a strong emphasis on arbitration proceedings. The successful candidate will draft complex submissions, prepare witnesses, manage expert discovery and play an active role in trial and arbitral advocacy. Applicants must hold a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted or eligible for admission in NY and have experience in complex litigation; an insurance or reinsurance background is preferred. The role requires strong written and oral advocacy skills, the ability to manage demanding clients and competing priorities, meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative working style. The firm operates a hybrid mode with compensation in the range of $300,000 plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
