About the Opportunity Freeman Mathis & Gary is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join our growing Phoenix, Arizona office . The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of litigation experience and a strong desire to take ownership of cases while delivering outstanding client service. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated litigation matters, gain significant courtroom and deposition experience, and collaborate with experienced litigators across the firm's national platform. We are seeking a motivated, organized, and team-oriented attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to achieving exceptional results. Key Responsibilities Evaluate claims and develop effective litigation strategies Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery Take and defend depositions Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents Attend court hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings Analyze legal issues and provide practical advice to clients Communicate case developments, risks, and litigation strategies to clients Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy Negotiate favorable resolutions when appropriate Build and maintain strong client relationships Collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school Active membership in good standing with the Arizona Bar, or ability to become licensed in Arizona Minimum of three years of litigation experience Strong academic credentials and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills Professional demeanor with a commitment to client service and teamwork Demonstrated ability to meet performance expectations and billing requirements Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook Experience with iManage and/or OneDrive is preferred Preferred Skills Strong litigation and case management skills Critical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities Deposition and motion practice experience Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills Effective client relationship management Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to take initiative and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture Why Join FMG?
