Exceptional Community Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma is seeking an experienced PRN Registered Nurse (RN) who is comfortable working in both our Emergency Department and Med-Surg Unit .

This unique PRN position offers the opportunity to use both your emergency and inpatient nursing skills while supporting a collaborative community hospital team.

Nurses are scheduled in either the Emergency Department or Med-Surg Unit for each shift based on staffing and patient care needs. Department assignments may vary from shift to shift; however, nurses are not routinely expected to move between departments during the same shift.

What You'll Do

As a PRN RN, you will provide safe, compassionate nursing care while working closely with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include:

• Perform patient assessments and ongoing reassessments.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Prioritize care based on patient acuity and clinical needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments.
• Initiate and maintain IV access and obtain laboratory specimens as appropriate.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Respond effectively to emergency and critical-care situations.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Facilitate safe admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Promote a safe, supportive, and team-oriented patient care environment.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Oklahoma RN license or Compact RN license .
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications .
• Previous acute-care hospital nursing experience.
• 2–3 years of recent Emergency Department and/or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
• ED, Med-Surg, and telemetry experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while remaining an engaged member of the healthcare team.
• Basic computer and electronic health record proficiency.

Schedule

• PRN / As Needed
• 12-hour shifts
• ED or Med-Surg assignment based on staffing needs
• Weekend availability
• Holiday coverage as needed
