Quick Facts: Location: 6711 South New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78223 Start Date: 08/31/2026 End Date: 08/10/2027 Shift: Flexible (typical daytime hours for medical care; on-call shifts as scheduled) Hours/week: Varies based on assignment Employment Type: Contract/Per Diem License/Certs: MD, active Texas Medical License, DEA, CPR certification, Board certification in Family or Internal Medicine Experience: Prior experience with adult mental health and long-term care preferred Pay & Benefits: Competitive hourly rate: $145/hour (W-2 included); weekends at $155/hour; holiday and on-call rates apply Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Paid sick time according to applicable laws 24/7 dedicated support team throughout assignment What You’ll Do: Provide direct patient care and psychiatric assessments for adults with dual diagnoses in a residential setting Respond to emergency calls and manage restraints as needed Conduct face-to-face evaluations and treatment planning Document all visits accurately and in compliance with agency policies Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in long-term care environments Participate in team meetings, rounds, and ongoing training Abide by HHSC and facility policies and procedures What You Need: MD license active and unrestricted in Texas Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine DEA certification in good standing Current CPR certification (American Heart Association) Willingness to complete required HHSC and facility training Experience in long-term adult care and mental health assessments preferred About the Assignment: This position involves providing comprehensive medical care to long-term adult patients in a residential facility setting. The physician will perform scheduled rounds, manage acute and chronic conditions, and contribute to patient care planning within a team dynamic.
