Job Overview

Summary:
A Line Cook at The Pig & Pint is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing hot and cold food items, properly portioning ingredients before cooking, and assisting with final plate presentation, including plating and garnishing.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is required.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with Managers, BOH, and FOH Team Members.
• Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to initiate and maintain professional and friendly conversations.
• Ability to follow printed recipes and plating specifications.
• Professional appearance that is appealing and approachable to internal and external guests.
• Must have flexible availability
• Strong problem-solving skills to define issues, gather information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must have reliable access to a mobile phone for communication regarding shift schedules, updates, and potential on-call availability.
• The ability to receive texts, calls, or app notifications in a timely manner is essential to the role.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
• Ability to recognize and adapt to the flow of business.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
• Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
• Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
• Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift heavy objects above shoulder level
• When performing the duties of this job, a Line Cook will be required to be continually walking, standing, and using their hands.

• The work environment is consistently wet, hot, and noisy.
• The work environment is stressful due to our guests' expectations, attention to detail, and the volume of business.
