Senior Coating Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Coating Engineer to lead the development, design, and optimization of advanced optical coatings and thin film technologies supporting new product introduction and strategic initiatives.

This role serves as a technical subject matter expert in optical coatings, partnering closely with engineering, operations, quality, and customers to deliver innovative, manufacturable solutions. The position drives coating engineering efforts from concept through production, including design, equipment qualification, product validation, and manufacturing transfer.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead coating development for new products from concept to production
Design and optimize optical coatings using Essential Macleod or similar tools
Drive process improvements, root cause analysis, and performance optimization
Support equipment selection, qualification, and technology advancement
Partner cross-functionally to resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturing outcomes
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science
5+ years of experience in optical coatings, thin films, or advanced manufacturing
Strong knowledge of coating design, deposition processes, and manufacturing environments
