Medication Assistant, Certified - FT Day

Job Title Medication Assistant (MA) – Full‑time, 12‑hour Day Shift, 40 hours per week. Location Gss Nd Lakota Ctr, Lakota, ND 58344, USA Pay Salary: $22.00–$28.00 per hour Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000 Job Summary The Medication Assistant (MA) is a caregiver who provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. The MA delivers age‑appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per the plan of care. Responsibilities Assists with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and transfers, including appropriate use of transfer techniques and equipment. Records vital signs and monitors resident status and reports any changes to the charge nurse. Prepares and serves food, promotes a positive dining experience, and provides water and supplements as needed. Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within scope of practice, and documents medication outcomes. Collects non‑invasive body fluid specimens, gathers vital signs, and maintains documentation of behavior, activity, and dietary data. Provides housekeeping and laundry support to maintain clean living areas. Supports residents in wellness and recreational programs, encouraging participation. Participates in departmental committees and task forces as needed. Qualifications High school graduate or GED preferred; 18‑year minimum age. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long‑term care preferred. Successfully completes yearly competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (12 hours annually). Maintains all required departmental certifications; may require a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. State‑specific certifications: Iowa: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with successful completion of state‑approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course. Minnesota: Nursing assistant certification with 75‑hour course registration and trained medication assistant certification. North Dakota: CNA with state‑approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course; assistant I or II certification depending on facility type. South Dakota: Certified Medication Aide (CMA) with state‑approved course.
