Required Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by law

Skill to effectively operate a computer workstation Experience with an automated record-keeping system

Scope of Responsibilities

Perform routine clerical accounting duties in the maintenance of assigned accounting records at a District office or school site. Perform repetitive job duties which are structured and closely supervised with the goal of becoming increasingly accurate and independent in the scope of work and job performance.

Performance Responsibilities & Evaluation Criteria

Assemble, match, sort, tabulate, check and input a variety of financial and statistical data Maintain statistical records and process a variety of documents involved in financial transactions Learn and apply District policies and procedures, with emphasis on those relating to recordkeeping, financial matters, and related personnel functions Post, balance and adjust accounts; review for accuracy and completeness Operate standard office equipment including a computer terminal, calculator and typewriter to enter and manipulate data Assemble financial and statistical data for various reports from clearly indicated sources Maintain various records, reports, documents and files as directed; distribute reports as assigned Assist other accounting clerical personnel in the maintenance of more complex accounts Oversee administration of Model Procurement as well as manage grant and construction accounting Assure collection and reconciliation of occupational and net profit tax Check mathematical calculations on financial records and documents; verify extensions, proper coding and account numbers Answer telephone; take and relay messages or transfer calls to appropriate personnel; provide routine information in response to written and verbal inquiries Perform basic accounting practice and procedures with speed and accuracy Perform other duties commensurate with the position as assigned by the Director of Finance or Superintendent/designee.

Physical Demands

The work is performed by sitting, standing or walking. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine motor manipulations. The work at times may require bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weight objects.

Terms of Employment

Number of days worked will be determined by the current school calendar adopted by the Warren County Board of Education. Salary shall be commensurate with adopted classified personnel salary schedule. Leave time will accrue as specified in Board Policy.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of Warren County Board of Education policy on evaluation of classified personnel. Evaluations will be conducted by the direct supervisor or his/her designee.
