Job DescriptionOnsite: Huntsville, ALCo-op from July – December 2027No relocation assistance or housing providedMercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Mechanical Engineering Co-op eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to complex design challenges. In this hands-on role, you’ll support the design and integration of electronic modules, subsystems, and rugged server assemblies from concept through production.Job Responsibilities:Support mechanical design efforts for electronic modules, subsystems, and rack-mounted server hardwareAssist with mechanical packaging design, printed wiring board layout, connector selection, cable and label design, prototype inspection, and assembly as well as ECAD supportCollaborate daily with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and ProcurementParticipate in the full product lifecycle, from concept development through integration, testing, and production releaseCreate and maintain 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorksContribute to documentation required for procurement, assembly, verification, and validationSupport environmental testing, inspection reports, and test plan developmentHelp structure Bills of Material (BOMs) and support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs/ECOs)Assist with procuring prototype materials to validate form, fit, and functionCommunicate design concepts and technical documentation to both internal and external stakeholdersRequired Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical disciplineA minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review processBasic understanding of heat transfer and thermal management principlesFamiliarity with conventional and advanced manufacturing methods, including additive manufacturingExperience with 3D CAD tools Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsProficiency with standard documentation and presentation toolsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment"This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations.
