Senior Avionics & Electrical Engineer | Space Systems Work Arrangement: On-site Employment Type: Full-time About the Opportunity We're working with a growing space technology company developing advanced spacecraft electronics, robotic systems, and electrical hardware for demanding aerospace applications. The business is expanding its electrical engineering capabilities and is looking to appoint experienced engineers across several positions covering avionics, embedded electronics, electrical systems, and power electronics. These are hands-on engineering opportunities offering substantial responsibility for the design, development, integration, and qualification of complex hardware. We are particularly interested in engineers who enjoy owning technical challenges, developing electronics from initial requirements through testing, and working within smaller, multidisciplinary engineering teams. The Role Depending on your experience and technical specialism, your responsibilities could include: Designing and developing avionics, electrical subsystems, and embedded electronic hardware for space applications. Taking ownership of circuit design, schematic capture, PCB development, hardware integration, and validation. Translating system-level requirements into detailed electrical architectures and hardware designs. Developing and testing power conversion, power management, or electrical distribution systems. Designing electronics supporting sensors, communications, control systems, and electromechanical hardware. Performing circuit analysis, simulation, component selection, and design verification. Supporting prototype development, PCB bring-up, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and failure investigations. Working closely with mechanical, software, systems, manufacturing, and test engineers to deliver integrated hardware. Supporting environmental qualification and the transition of electronic hardware into production. We are recruiting across two main technical areas: Spacecraft Avionics & Embedded Electronics This work involves developing electrical hardware for complex space and robotic systems, including control electronics, sensors, communications interfaces, embedded computing, and motion-control applications. Power Electronics & Electrical Power Systems These opportunities focus on the design and development of power conversion and management hardware, including DC-DC converters, switching circuits, MOSFETs, gate drivers, magnetics, control loops, and protection circuitry. You do not need extensive experience in both areas. We are interested in engineers with strong technical expertise in either specialism. What We're Looking For A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience. Spacecraft, satellite, or launch vehicle, avionics. Strong practical experience designing and developing electronic hardware. Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, circuit analysis, and electrical testing. Familiarity with electronic design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or equivalent software. Experience building, testing, debugging, and improving electronic assemblies. Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and hardware reliability. The ability to take ownership of engineering deliverables and work effectively across multiple disciplines. We are primarily targeting Senior Engineers and above, although candidates with approximately 3–5 years of particularly relevant design experience and demonstrated technical ownership are also encouraged to apply.
