Senior Buyer – Sourcing & Procurement (Manufacturing / Aerospace)

Location: Whippany, NJ

Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Salary: $105,000 – $115,000 / year + Benefits

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to drive strategic sourcing for complex components, machined parts, and specialized manufacturing services. In this Senior Buyer role, we welcome procurement talent from aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, or high-precision industrial manufacturing backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: As Senior Buyer , you will manage full-lifecycle procurement for raw materials, castings, forgings, precision machining, and outside processing.
• Production & MRP: Analyze MRP/ERP schedules to ensure on-time material delivery while optimizing inventory levels.
• Negotiation & Vendor Management: Solicit RFQs, perform price analyses, negotiate terms, and build strong supplier networks.
• Problem Solving: Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve non-conformances, design changes, and shortage risks.
• Compliance: Oversee purchase order flow-downs and maintain regulatory standards (AS9100/ISO 9001, ITAR, FAR/DFARS).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement experience in precision manufacturing or regulated environments, ideally as a Senior Buyer or Buyer.
• Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and the ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Strong negotiation, cost-analysis, and supplier management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Preferred: CPIM, CSCP, or CPSM certifications; familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, or DFARS.

• Must be eligible to access export-controlled technical data under U.S. law (ITAR/EAR).
