Full-Time Rn Cath Lab OpportunityShift: Days 6:30a - 5pm with on call - must live within 30 minutes of hospital.Now hiring a full-time RN to join the dedicated Cath Lab team at Baltimore Washington Medical Hospital. The Cardiac Cath Lab is a 24/7 operation and performs dozens lifesaving procedures each day. Candidates with prior work experience in ER or Critical Care adapt very well to this work environment.This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses who have greater than 2 years of critical care experience or Cath Lab experience. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team. Utilizes the institution's care delivery and professional practice models as the frame of reference for practicing as a professional nurse. Participates in activities to develop own practice, and to support group practice goals at the unit level. Is accountable to patient, family and team members for care provided and to the nurse manager for totality of work performance. Provides direct performance feedback at the direction of the nurse manager.Work ExperienceMinimum Education RequirementsAn Associate Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor of Science from a College of Nursing is preferred.Current Maryland RN licensure is required prior to beginning orientation.At least 1 year of RN experience is required.2 years of ED or ICU RN experience is strongly preferred.Employees hired on or after July 1, 2018 will be required to complete a Bachelor of Science from a College of Nursing within 5 years from the date of hire or transfer into a Clinical Nursing position.Professional Certification is highly encouraged and required if the individual does not have a BSN.If there is a gap in applied nursing experience of 5 years or more successful completion of a refresher course within past 6 months is required.QualificationsAmerican Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS required upon hire.Maintains all Clinical Nurse I core expectationsCompetent evaluation with successful passing of probation; current on all mandatory classes/training.Ability to learn and use computer systems in order to manage patient informationDemonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
