Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Care of clients in all treatment areas to ensure their comfort and well-being. Including, but not limited to, daily assessment of their physical and mental state and upkeep and accuracy of their charts. BRIEF OUTLINE OF POSITION:- Responsible for taking vital signs, assessing the client's medical and psychological symptoms, and documenting the same in the daily nursing progress notes.
- Ensure proper and accurate transcription of physician orders and accurate documentation on the medication administration record, verbal physician orders, and individuals on self-medication plans.
- Inform the physician of acute or ongoing medical and/or psychiatric problems, scheduled clinic appointment times, and the results of medical assessments and testing.
- Schedule outside medical appointments and ensure client's transportation.
- Review the client's health plan, develop and manage medical and medication goals for clients' comprehensive treatment plans, and include clients in the self-administration medication program.
- Complete intake assessments for new admissions and ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and aligned with regulatory and program standards.
- Conduct regular internal audits of nursing documentation and client charts to ensure compliance, accuracy, and completeness.
- Develop and run nursing groups, act as group therapy co-leaders, and participate in treatment team meetings.
- Act as liaison between the client's physicians and the staff.
- Provide clients and staff with training on hygiene, medication side effects, first aid, nutrition, etc.
- Provide oversight of the unit while on shift and supervise Psych Techs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE) Must have an acceptable PA criminal history, FBI clearance and Child Abuse clearance done before hire.
